Negotiations update

Well folks, this isn't going to be much of an update, as the planned negotiations never took place. She had to work, she said, and couldn't come. I had set the date in advance, a week before, ample time for her to make arrangements if she so chose to. But she did not, and what negotiations that HAVE taken place since then have been over the phone, with her doing her best to dictate how things were "supposed" to have gone.

Now she's calling me looking for money, since I told her I guess things weren't going to work out, and won't accept the amount that I am able to give her. She used every trick in the book, the fake being nice approach, the guilt trip approach, and the not so concealed threat approach, and I rebutted them all, told her she was going to have to take what I can give her, because no matter what she thought, or tried to demand, it just wasn't going to happen. And then of course she got called away, as she was calling me while she was at work. Which is against their policy, and she never does it unless she wants something from me.

Anyway, I have decided that it's time to cut the ties, other than providing for my children. She and I are just not compatible in that type of relationship. I'm not going to ask her to change, and I'm finally being who I really am, so it's time to go on with our lives. May they both be good.

Plans delayed, but life is good

Well folks, it seems we ran into some logistical issues, so the negotiations with my wife will not take place this weekend.

She had to work, so it will be a few more weeks now before we can try to reconcile. I'm bummed about it, but so far it's been a great "weekend" otherwise, so I'm not complaining. I'm in a good place mentally and emotionally, for once in my life, so this setback just means to me that it's not quite time yet for it to happen.

I went grocery shopping today, with a list and everything, and spent almost exactly what I thought I was going to, and I've been having fun chatting with my best friend (who incidentally was very instrumental in compiling that grocery list) and playing around in facebook, it's been a really good day.

Today is my oldest daughter's 14th birthday, it's hard to believe that she's that old already. She just got back from spending a week in Gatlinburg (TN) with her girl scout troop, so her party is tomorrow, I'm really looking forward to spending time with her and her sisters. Then when I come back, I'm bringing along my youngest with me, so my roommate can take some pics of her for a school project on Sunday. That should be a lot of fun for her, and I'm going to thoroughly enjoy having her here with me for a time.

Things are better than they've ever been; my job is going well, I'm getting up to speed on everything I have to do there, and I will hopefully be offered a full time position at my 90 day evaluation. That's in another month.

Like everyone else, I don't know what tomorrow may bring, but it's nice to be able to say that now I don't worry too much about the future, things happen just the way they should, and in the end, I know all of it will be for the best. So have a great night everyone, stay safe, and I'll be back soon to give you another update.

Negotiations have been set

Well folks, it's finally happened, just when it should have, as they say.

I've opened negotiations with my wife.

We plan to meet in a neutral location and discuss the terms of a treaty. A treaty that will ensure equality among our two peoples, and forge a new bond of trust and mutual benefits to both parties. We've been at war for nearly 3 months now, and the emotional casualties had mounted till I had had enough, and decided that it was time for a diplomatic solution.

That diplomatic solution will entail a detailed discussion of the rights and responsibilities of both people, with an emphasis on equality and two way communication. Furthermore, it will be stated that no one person will be given absolute power over the other, in case such absolute power should corrupt absolutely and turn that person into a tyrannical dictator, which was the main cause of the aforementioned war.

Some of the other key points to be discussed are the future plans for the consolidated empire, specifically the location in which that empire will be ultimately permanently stationed geographically speaking, as well as the possible educational opportunities afforded our offspring. There will also be a lengthy discussion over financial issues, as no empire, country, or principality can survive without adequately accounting for incomes and expenditures, with a proper "checks and balances" system in place to ensure that fraudulent or frivolous activities are kept to a minimum.

These discussions have been laid on the table, and both parties are willing to negotiate. Let us hope that we will come to a mutually beneficial agreement, and that the treaty can be signed to end the hostilities. In these perilous times, with the economy and the awful state of the Gulf of Mexico, we need more alliances like these to strengthen the union of this great continent.

May all turn out well in the end.
